Android Auto in general

Does Android Auto use Bluetooth?

Yes, Android Auto does use Bluetooth as one of the connectivity options. When using Android Auto in a car, you can connect your Android device to the car's infotainment system either via a USB cable or wirelessly using Bluetooth. Bluetooth is used for various functions, such as hands-free calling, media playback control, and voice commands, while the USB connection provides additional features like screen mirroring and faster data transfer.

Our wireless Android Auto adapter has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth hardware. AAWireless establishes a Bluetooth connection with your phone, passes the Wi-Fi credentials from the dongle to the phone, and then breaks off the Bluetooth connection. The adaptor exclusively utilises Wi-Fi from that moment on. This will not happen if dongle mode is enabled. Dongle mode will keep the bluetooth connection always on.

If you're interested in using Android Auto Wirelessly, consider an AAWireless device for your car.
