What's new with TWO

The AAWireless TWO adapter has a few significant improvements compared to its predecessor. First is its LED-edged multifunctional button, used to perform quick actions like pairing a phone and switching between connected phones. This makes the TWO perfect for shared use during carpooling and road trips. Users can also put the device on standby with the button to temporarily stop the device from connecting to your phone. What is also better about the TWO is its size. Thanks to its efficient hardware design, the TWO is 30% smaller than the first adapter.

Customizable button functionalities

AAWireless has always differentiated itself from the competition through its unique companion app. The app provides regular OTA firmware updates, an interactive installation guide and additional features for Android Auto. With the TWO coming out on October 20th, the company just released a redesigned app with even more features. The most notable new feature is that users can customize the button’s functionalities to their liking.

CarPlay

‍

Unfortunately, the AAWireless TWO will not include support for wireless CarPlay. CTO Chiel Prins explains, "Last year, we rolled out our CarPlay Beta on the current AAWireless adapter but soon found certain limitations. Meanwhile, we had already started the design and development phase for the AAWireless TWO. After testing the CarPlay Beta extensively, we had to conclude we needed a different hardware design to implement adequate CarPlay support. That's when we started a new design process for a new product.” This also means that the CarPlay Beta will remain in beta permanently on the first AAWireless adapter.

TWO+

The good news is: in Q1 2025, AAWireless will release the "TWO+" adapter, which provides support for both CarPlay and Android Auto. "With this new hardware design, we are creating a product that delivers wireless CarPlay with the same high standards as our Android Auto adapters”, says Prins.

4 Years Anniversary

The launch date of the TWO, October 20th, will also mark the 4th anniversary of AAWireless' successful IndieGogo campaign, which introduced the world's first wireless Android Auto adapter. The campaign received overwhelming support from over 70.000 backers and gave the Dutch company the funds to launch its first adapter in 2020.

Since then, the company has continuously improved its product. AAWireless boasts an international group of testers and an active customer community on forums like Reddit and XDA that provide valuable product feedback. For example, the exterior design of the TWO came to be with the help of 350 respondents to last year's product survey. Customer feedback on compatibility, connectivity, and usability led AAWireless to develop the upcoming products (TWO, TWO+) in the first place. "There's only so much you can improve with firmware updates. In the end, there's going to be a point where you'll have to commit to making new products", Prins states.

EU & US release October 20th

The AAWireless TWO will be out on October 20th in the US (priced at $64.99, exclusively on Amazon) and most European countries (priced €59.99 - €67.99 on the official webshop, Amazon and Bol.com). Due to regulatory and logistical reasons, the AAWireless TWO release dates in the following regions have been postpone until further notice:
